When i first started to read the handout "Outside Lies Magic" i was like...."oh great, what is this boring handout going to be about". but after i wized through the reading i realized how intriguing the topic really was. It really channeled something inside of me and made me want to walk outside and EXPLORE! unfortunately, i have class to go out...i guess i'll explore later. When John Stilgoe started talking about how you can not explore while you are driving...i wondered "why". His point on how if you go too slow, you will cause a traffic jamb, and how you can't really take in the sight or smell of things were deffinitly true and brought up a really good point! Nature really is the "best kept secret" of all; i agree with him completely. The face that if you "walk under deciduous trees and notice that all the spots of sunlight on the walkways, whatever their different sizes, are the same shape" i NEVER would have noticed. In fact, in all of my 22 years of life, i have never begun to ponder the thought. I just went through life taking the smallest thing, like the shape or size of a tree shadow, for granted. I am really happy that this reading assignment was given to us, because i will keep everything i read in mind and try to make this the begining of my "exploration"!
